Sun damage can make you look older in more ways than one

It’s a sad fact that Australian women more than anyone else in the world, thanks to – you guessed it – the harmful effects of our country’s high UV levels, and brown spots age us more than wrinkles!

The sun’s UV rays damage the elastin and collagen fibres in our skin, resulting in everything from freckles and age spots to spider veins, thinning of the skin to fine lines, wrinkles, blotchiness and yellowing.

Photorejuvenation is fast and effective to turn back the signs of ageing so how does it work?

Photorejuvenation is an advanced treatment using Intense Pulsed Light to treat sun damaged and pigmented skin, as well as stimulates collagen production. This no-downtime treatment improves the appearance of visible blood vessels (thread veins), rosacea, redness, age spots, sun-induced freckles and pigmentation on the face, neck and all over the body.

By using IPL light to improve skin appearance and texture, this exciting and unique facial procedure has been designed to treat many different skin conditions you can turn back the signs of ageing for bright, rejuvenated skin.

The Key Benefits of Photorejuvenation

Fast, effective and proven skin rejuvenation, with little to no downtime.

Reduces the effects of diffuse redness & acne

Can remove spider veins & superficial capillary damage on the face and body

Lightens pigmentation and removes sun & age spots on the face and body

Improves skin texture and tone on the face, neck, chest and body

How it works

IPL Light targets only the pigmented lesion in the skin which absorbs the light, without damaging the surrounding skin. The IPL light heats up and shatters the pigment. Pigmentation is drawn to the surface without harming the surrounding tissue.

Once drawn to the surface, the pigmented lesions feel like micro peeling and fade or dry and flake off the treated area in around 7-14 days leaving the skin with an even tone and complexion.

Photorejuvenation treatments boost your collagen production!

Photorejuvenation will also boost your collagen production promoting youthful looking skin.

Collagen is an integral part of the skin structure that keeps our skin looking youthful and smooth. As our bodies naturally produce less and less collagen resulting in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles IPL Photorejuvenation stimulates cells in the body called fibroblast to produce more collagen resulting in a smoother texture, small pore size and reduced fine lines and wrinkles

How to prepare for Photorejuvenation

No sun exposure two weeks prior and use of Fleur De Mer SPF 50+ sunscreen every day in the lead up to your treatment.

Aftercare

Any pigmentation removal treatments that use medical grade IPL can expect a mild discolouration of pigment before it heals after 4- 7 days approximately. The treated area may also become more sensitive to sun exposure. As always, sun protection is vital. If you have a special event to showcase your new glowing skin, we recommend you having treatments 3-4 weeks before your event

Photorejuvenation is perfect because who doesn’t want a younger, brighter, more even complexion?
